We are pleased to announce that after months of work with the County, we have a MOU to share with you that clarifies the extension of probation language, especially for those who move to a new County position (v. external hires).
We hope that this is helpful for Managers in setting clear expectations and removing the uncertainty for our members who might be in probation. For all HCSA positions probation is 6 months, however for external hires the Employer can, at it's discretion, extend probation for an additional 6 months. For internal transfers/promotions though there shall not be an extension unless agreed to by the union. Please note that the language allows for a default approval if the employee or union do not respond in ten calendar days.
